Proud Boys Website, Online Store Dropped by Web Host

The Proud Boys, an FBI-named extremist group with ties to white nationalism, lost their web host for the group's website and online store due to advocacy efforts, Color of Change.
“After a hint from Color of Change, we notified one of our customers - a website hoster - who then took action. The websites in question were not Google Cloud customers, ”a Google Cloud spokesman told TheWrap on Friday.
However, as of Friday evening, the extremist group appears to have got a new host for their website, but the online shop is currently not taking orders and a notice to online customers stating that “the migration to a new web host took longer than expected. ”

Nonetheless, Rashad Robinson, President of Color of Change, praised Google for its "measures to block the Proud Boys website and online shop", but urged "Google's colleagues to follow suit".
"Big tech companies have the power and resources to take meaningful action, but are instead turning to last-minute responses that often do not prevent further violent harm or even death," Robinson said in a statement. "When you allow domestic terrorist groups, right-wing militias and violent hate groups to recruit, organize and mobilize on your platform, there is no longer any question of whether your company cares about blacks and other marginalized communities - YOU DON 'T."
He added, "Tech companies need to take and enforce a proactive, aggressive approach to stop the violent, hateful activity on their platforms. They can no longer rely on lawyers as they have been for far too long," continued Robinson away. "Anything but creating the policies and enforcement mechanisms needed to proactively keep these hateful groups away from tech platforms will only produce more dangerous results."
