ITV's very bizarre singing competition, The Masked Singer, will be back for another series, according to presenter Joel Dommett, who has confirmed that filming for the second series will begin in September.
Numerous shows and films have had to stop filming in recent months due to the coronavirus pandemic. There was very little news about when shooting would resume and when late shows like Line of Duty and Stranger Things would actually air.
But it looks like things in the entertainment world are getting ready to start again. Joel Dommett, moderator of The Masked Singer, confirms that the show is scheduled to begin shooting her second series in September.
Dommett said of Martin and Romans Sunday Best: "There will be another series, I am so excited to be able to tell people now," he continued. "They all plan it, they don't know the rules of when it will all happen in September, but I'm so excited to be part of the show that I absolutely love."
The first series of the show aired earlier this year, and people quickly became obsessed with the bizarre nature of the competition, where celebrities dress in full-blown disguises and perform for judges who try to guess who is behind each of the masks. The disguises of the first series included a butterfly with a huge porcelain head and a glittering unicorn in a white suit. It was definitely something.
The show's first winner was former Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts (who had been Queen Bee all along). She beat the other finalists Octopus aka Katherine Jenkins and Hedgehog aka Jason Manford for first place.
It feels exactly like a strange TV that we need after locking.
