Putin decides to receive coronavirus vaccine - Kremlin
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia's President Vladimir Putin will receive the Sputnik-V vaccine against the coronavirus, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a Russian state television broadcaster on Sunday.
"He said he would be vaccinated, he made that decision and waited for all the paperwork to be completed," the spokesman told Rossiya 1 TV Channel on his website.
Russia launched a voluntary vaccination program with the Russian-made Sputnik V vaccine in early December, starting with the most vulnerable groups in Moscow.

People over 60 could start requesting shots on Monday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on his website on Sunday, a day after the Russian Ministry of Health announced that the vaccine had been approved for the elderly after a separate trial.
Putin, 68, previously said that the Russian vaccine was effective and safe and that he saw no reason not to get vaccinated and that he was waiting for it to be available.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in Russia, Putin has mainly worked remotely, holding meetings via video link and doing limited travel.
He said in August that one of his daughters took part in the vaccine's clinical trial and felt fine afterwards.
