R. Kelly's Longtime Live-In Girlfriend Joycelyn Savage Says She's Written Tell-All Book Called 'Love And Joy Of Robert'

R. Kelly's longtime friend — and possible fiancée — Joycelyn Savage says she's written a book about her relationship with the incarcerated R&B artist.
In a letter to the judge handling Kelly's recent case in New York, Savage, 26, explained that she and the singer are engaged. She pleaded for leniency just weeks before Kelly, 55, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexual exploitation of a child, bribery, kidnapping, extortion and sex trafficking, Page Six reported.
Savage defended Kelly in 2019 following his arrest. In that interview, Savage, 26, said that she and Kelly had "a very strong relationship" and that her parents, who have been vocal in their criticism of Kelly, were "basically out here trying to get money and scams."

But later that year, Savage reportedly announced on Instagram that she would be sharing her story about her life with Kelly via updates on Patreon, a platform where subscribers pay for content. That Patreon account then accused Kelly of being controlling, abusive and taking advantage of Savage in 2015 when she was just 17 years old. Patreon later removed the account and claimed to have concerns about "possible identity theft" after Savage stated she was not the source of the allegations.
This week, she told the New York Post that "everything is answered in my book."
Savage said the book will be called Love and Joy of Robert and will be "released Saturday."
She would neither confirm nor deny her engagement to Kelly. It is also unclear whether the book has a publisher or not.

"All I can say is that this is about Robert, the beginning of my life in Robert's shadow, where things started to develop and where they are currently going," she said.
In her July letter to the court, Savage called Kelly -- whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly -- "a thoroughly incredible person" and "not the monster the government has described him as."
Throughout Kelly's trial, prosecutors argued that Kelly sexually abused numerous young women and men, some of whom were minors, over a period of nearly two decades. In addition, they said he ran a company of managers, bodyguards and other associates who recruited victims for him while giving them false hope that he would help them with their entertainment careers. For years, Kelly has been repeatedly accused of holding several women against their will in his home - and treating many as if they belonged to him - for his own sexual gratification.
The singer also faces separate state trials for sex crimes in Illinois and Minnesota and has pleaded not guilty to those counts. Kelly was accused of child pornography in Chicago in 2002; He was finally acquitted in 2008.
