Rachel Maddow Lists Manhattan Apartment
Rachel Maddow is looking for a new owner for her long-standing Manhattan apartment. According to the New York Post, the MSNBC political commentator recently listed the 2,650-square-foot pad for $ 2.35 million, a significant increase from the $ 1.25 million she paid for it in 2010. (Fun fact: Maddow bought the house from REM frontman Michael Stipe.)
Consisting of two bedrooms and a bathroom and a half, the sunny unit was renovated under Maddow's ownership, although many of its original details are retained, including wooden support columns and exposed brick walls. However, the finished hickory wood floors are new. The house opens to a cozy entrance foyer that leads to a spacious, large room with an open floor plan. The dining area is topped with an eye-catching modern chandelier, and the living area is anchored by a floor-to-ceiling wood-burning fireplace with a soapstone frame.

A long hallway leads to the other wing of the apartment where the two bedrooms are located. The smaller of the two is currently used as a home office, while the larger has a spa-like marble bathroom. There is a walk-in closet between the master bedroom and the bathroom, which offers enough storage space even for the most extravagant wardrobes. Common amenities in the building include bike storage, laundry room and a 24/7 superintendent.
