Rachel Zoe Says She's "Scarred For Life" After Her Son Is Hospitalized for Ski Accident
Rachel Zoe is especially grateful this Christmas season after 9-year-old son Skyler was hospitalized after a 40-foot fall from a ski lift.
On Monday December 21, the fashion designer discussed the harrowing moment on Instagram, writing that she was forced to share her family's experiences to remind people "how fragile life is and how it is one minute can turn ". Rachel shared a photo of Skyler in a bed in the emergency room and promised to reveal the details when she felt "more ready." At the time, the reality TV personality said she was "stunned and numb" by the events of the weekend.
However, the mother returned to Instagram just hours later and wrote that she had "never felt more love" from her followers than she does today. "Sky read every message and is as happy and grateful as I am. It means everything to feel the love and healing this way," wrote Rachel. "Many of you are wondering what happened and in short, without too many details that I'll share when it's done here."

She continued, "Sky fell 40 feet off a ski lift yesterday, which could have been prevented if the operator had stopped the lift when he saw the sky wasn't on from the start and @rbermanus yelled for the lift Needless to say, a miracle and the heroes of the ski patrol, who quickly put a mat under it where they thought he was going to fall, ultimately saved his life or what could have happened. Rachel added that her son is sore but in "good spirits", although the same cannot be said for her and her husband Rodger Berman. Janie and Jack's collection designer said she and Rodger have "lifelong scars".
For those concerned about the 9 year old, don't fret. She added a video from Sky thanking her followers for their warm wishes and walking around to show everyone that he is "fine". Rachel explained that she has a new appreciation for her son doing such simple tasks as "walking, talking, and laughing."
She finished her note, "To be honest, Sky was braver than the two of us and we just kiss, hug and stare at him until further notice. Give your babies a special hug for us today."
