Racing world reacts to death of driver Laura Salvo during rally in Portugal
The racing world remembered the death of a rally driver on Saturday. Laura Salvo was killed in an accident after hitting a tree during a race at the Vidreiro Centro Rally in Portugal.
The 21-year-old Spaniard drove with Miguel Socias in a Peugeot. The Associated Press reported that she died on the spot after receiving medical attention before a medical helicopter arrived.
The race was canceled after the wreck.
The W-Series, Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz (and his father, who won the Dakar Rally), NBA champion Pau Gasol and Peugeot were among those who posted reactions to their deaths on Twitter.
