Ravens place OL Tyre Phillips on injured reserve, release RB Trenton Cannon
The Baltimore Ravens lost a wild and insane game against the Las Vegas Raiders in week 1 of the 2021 season. That isn't the only thing they lost, however, as Baltimore announced that they have put another player in the injured reserve after being injured in the contest on offensive lineman Tire Phillips.
Phillips went down and grabbed his knee for the first half of the first week. He couldn't put any weight on his leg and was carted off the field, which is never a good sign. Head coach John Harbaugh did not provide an update on Phillips' status but his immediate placement on IR bodes ill for the potential injury. The Ravens also announced that they released running back Trenton Cannon, who signed with the team last week.
Cannon only signed with Baltimore last week after the end of the season after injuring running backs J.K Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill. When the Ravens lost to Las Vegas in Week 1, he carried the ball twice for five yards.
