Razer's Blade Stealth gets an 11th-gen Intel CPU and OLED display option

A few months after updating the Blade Stealth earlier this year, Razer is updating the ultraportable. A 10 nm Tiger Lake processor from Intel is new to the model for the end of 2020. The 11th generation quad-core CPU with eight threads has a base clock rate of 2.8 GHz and, in the case of the Razer Blade Stealth, a 28 W TDP. The processor's performance should make the Blade Stealth more suitable for gaming and creative work than a typical ultrabook. Like the model it replaces, the new Blade Stealth also features a GeForce GTX 1650 Ti GPU with 4GB of RAM. It also comes with 16 GB of 3,733 MHz LPDDR4X memory and an upgradeable 512 GB NVMe storage drive.
Another new feature of this model is THX Spatial Audio with four speakers pointing upwards and an “intelligent” amplifier that supplies everything with power. When you switch to spatial audio mode, Razer claims that the Blade Stealth creates a more immersive soundstage.
When Razer refreshed the Blade Stealth earlier this year, the laptop's primary function was a 120 Hz Full HD display with 100 percent sRGB coverage. For creatives, the company offered the option of upgrading to a 4K panel. This time around, Razer takes a different approach. The 4K display will be replaced by a 1080p OLED panel with 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage. The panel doesn't have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, but you benefit from a higher contrast ratio and touchscreen support. Whether it makes sense to pay the additional $ 200 to upgrade to the OLED model depends on how you assess the burn-in potential.
All of these components still come in a 15.3mm thick case that now contains two Thunderbolt 4 compatible USB-C's. It also comes with two USB-A 3.1 ports as well as a headphone and microphone jack combo. WiFi 6 is supported for wireless connection.
You will be able to purchase the 2020 Razer Blade Stealth from the end of this month. The 120 Hz will bring you back $ 1,800, while the OLED variant costs a cool $ 2,000. Either way, you pay a lot to get a laptop that is both portable and powerful. Then, however, not many Ultrabooks will offer the processor and GPU performance that you can get with the Razer Blade Stealth.
