Cori Bush formed a sharp contrast to Nancy Pelosi, who officiated the lavish wedding of an oiless.
"She is in a position of power, and that is more like her lead. That is what her focus is on," she said.
Bush also declined to say whether she would support Pelosi in possible future leadership elections.
Missouri Democratic Representative Cori Bush drew a stark contrast between her and Nancy Pelosi when asked about the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives at a glamorous oiless wedding in San Francisco earlier this month.

"My intent is to raise those who have been marginalized, oppressed, and overlooked," the St. Louis congressman and squad member told BuzzFeed. "And she is in a position of power, and that is more likely to be her lead. That is what her focus is on."
Earlier this month, Pelosi led the wedding ceremony for Tobias Engel and Ivy Getty at San Francisco City Hall. Getty - the granddaughter of oil baron J. Paul Getty and an heiress to his fortune - hosted a glamorous and high-profile wedding in which she wore a dress made from broken mirrors.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and the Mayor of San Francisco London Breed are also said to have attended.
That came just after the House of Representatives voted to pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill, which President Joe Biden later signed. Bush was one of six "Squad" members who voted against the bill, preferring to see it along with the Build Back Better social spending bill that the progressives have prioritized.
Bush told BuzzFeed that Infrastructure Vote Day was "absolutely the worst day" she has had as a congressman and told her staff that she wanted to take care of herself by staying away from social media and the news.
"I'm a broken black girl," she reportedly wrote to St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones.
About the wedding itself, Bush told Buzzfeed that she "didn't know who these people were until I saw people talking about it," and that Pelosi's participation in the lavish ceremony "didn't really move me, either."
“People see things differently from others, and I've learned not to judge people for their point of view if they haven't been through the things I have been through,” she said. "Just as I cannot change their experiences, I can only expose them to mine or to those of others who may not know or understand them."
The congresswoman also contrasted her experiences with Pelosi during the race.
"I don't wear the same glasses as her," Bush told BuzzFeed, referring to Pelosi. "For me, I'm not a woman first, I'm a black first. I'm not interested in party lines like her one who stays inside - just playing the game, for example."
The Missouri Congresswoman was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2020, defeating an incumbent whose family had held the St. Louis seat since 1969. Bush became known as a Black Lives Matter activist in Ferguson in 2014, and her main failed bid for 2018 was the subject of a documentary, "Take Back The House," which also portrayed the successful first campaign by MP Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Bush also declined to say whether she would support Pelosi in running the Democrats in the House of Representatives in future elections, saying she had no "answer" to that question.
Pelosi's office did not respond to Insider's request for comment, but told BuzzFeed that "the spokeswoman is out of shift, she is on a mission".
