Report: Arizona hit with nine alleged NCAA violations, including several Level 1 allegations

The NCAA hit Arizona last week with nine misconduct allegations, five of which were Level I allegations, according to Seth Davis of The Athletic.
The allegations have reportedly included a lack of institutional oversight and oversight by the university itself, as well as a lack of oversight by both basketball coach Sean Miller and swimming and diving coach Augie Busch.
NCAA hits Arizona with 5 Level I allegations
Arizona admitted it received official notice of allegations from the NCAA on Friday. The school's outside attorney, according to The Athletic, called for the case to be referred to the new independent accountability resolution process set up in 2018 specifically for the most complex and contentious cases of violations. The IARP has not heard a case since it was founded.
According to the report, one of the reasons for the allegations was that former basketball assistants Book Richardson and Mark Phelps refused to speak to NCAA investigators - which, according to the NCAA, "threatened the integrity of the investigation."
Arizona outside attorney Paul Kelly said this was a "controversial stance" and that the school "strongly denies this allegation and intends to determine that this allegation is unfounded," according to The Athletic.
The desire for IARP involvement, Kelly said, is "to ensure a neutral and impartial tribunal that hears the evidence, considers the legal and factual arguments, as well as the question and decision, which are fair and just".
Richardson was arrested and sentenced to three months in prison for accepting $ 20,000 bribes to try to win Arizona players against aspiring sports agent Christian Dawkins. He was one of several arrests - along with former USC assistant Tony Bland, former Auburn assistant Chuck Person, and former South Carolina assistant Lamont Evans - in the FBI's massive investigation into college basketball corruption in recent years .
Kansas, Louisville, NC State, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, TCU, USC, and Arizona have all been hit with allegations related to the FBI investigation.
The Board of Regents in Arizona has scheduled a special meeting for Monday.
