Report: Eagles TE Dallas Goedert ‘sucker-punched’ at South Dakota restaurant
The close end of the Philadelphia Eagles Dallas Goedert was "thrashed" on Friday evening over dinner with his family in a restaurant in South Dakota, according to NJ.com.
According to NBC Sports, Goedert was slapped in the face.
The blow supposedly came out of nowhere unprovoked. It is not clear who met Goedert or why.
The Eagles were aware of the incident, according to NJ.com, but declined to comment.
Goedert is preparing to begin its third season with the Eagles this fall. The former and former South Dakota State native, who was born in Britton, South Dakota, completed 607 yards and five touchdowns at 58 receptions for Philadelphia last fall.
The 25-year-old is entering the third year of his first four-year $ 5.6 million rookie deal and can renew a contract after this season.
