Report: Markelle Fultz, Orlando Magic agree to three-year extension

Report: Markelle Fultz, Magic, agrees to a three-year extension originally published on NBC Sports Washington
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, magician and DMV-born Markelle Fultz has signed a three-year $ 50 million extension to stay in Orlando.
Last season, his first with the Magic, Fultz appeared in 72 games with 60 starts. The security guard averaged a career high in points (12.2), assisted (5.1) with field goal (46.5%) and free throw (73.0%) and turned his career around after two injury-related seasons with Philadelphia .
Fultz was number 1 in the 2017 NBA draft and considered a failure by many after playing for the 76ers in just 33 games in the first two seasons before moving to Orlando. The 22-year-old's shooting form became a topic of conversation because it had an unorthodox problem and was drastically different from when he starred at the University of Washington.
Since Fultz was traded to Orlando, he has improved his game significantly. Signing a three-year extension shows Orlando believes in the guard who is evolving as one of the core pieces of the team, along with Jonathan Isaac, who has just signed his own extension, and Aaron Gordon.
Fultz grew up in Prince George's County, Md., And played at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Md., Just outside the Washington border. He was a teammate of rookie Chase Young of the Washington Football Team at DeMatha, and the two remain close friends.
