Report: Mavericks' Willie Cauley-Stein joins growing list of NBA players opting out of Disney restart
Willie Cauley-Stein is added to the list of players who skip restarting the NBA in Disney World.
The Dallas Mavericks Center is expecting a newborn with its partner and will not join its team in Florida, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic. Charania also reports that the Mavericks sign experienced free agent security guard Trey Burke.
NBA players do not have to participate
When the NBA announced its restart in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic, it told players that they were not required to participate in the Disney World Bubble League. Players who sign out will have their salaries cut for the games they miss unless they are at risk of serious illness from participating. You will not be fined or fined.

Players who have previously opted out
Washington Wizards striker Davis Bertrans was the first player to sign out. He had a breakout season and is facing a big payday in the free agency. In the meantime, the Wizards are 5.5 games away from a playoff spot, and there are still eight games left.
The Los Angeles Lakers guard, Avery Bradley, has opted out, citing his family. Before Bradley signed off, he argued with Kyrie Irving that playing basketball disrupted the movement of the Black Lives Matter.
Portland Trail Blazers striker Trevor Ariza has also reportedly signed off, focusing primarily on a custody case and a visit to his 12-year-old son.
Of course, these opt-outs are only relevant if the NBA can start their bubble league. Florida is an epicenter for the nation's resurgence in COVID-19 cases, jeopardizing the planned restart of the NBA in Disney World in late July.
Since Governor Ron DeSantis rescued the housing and courted sport guidelines, which are restricted elsewhere, in May, the state has seen an increase in coronavirus cases. The state recorded its two highest cases of newly confirmed cases with more than 5,000 new cases per day on Wednesday and Thursday.
