He took it to his hut.
Dogs, cats and children are usually the most common culprits when Christmas decorations go missing, but that wasn't the case this time. When wildlife rehabilitation specialist @beaverbabyfurrylove noticed someone dragging her gift wrap to the bath, she wasn't surprised to catch her beaver in the act. Yes, the rodent was about to jump into the water with the gift wrap in its mouth!
This rescuer is used to having beavers around while they heal and rest, but it's still bittersweet to know that the guy from this video, Beave, is no longer with her. He's probably stealing things to lug them out into the wilderness to his lair!

Ah, beaver! We love how naturally this guy follows his instincts, but his foster mom's reaction is even better. She just has a good laugh, even though she almost lost her Christmas gift wrap. She caught up with him in time too!
"I remember when he took the little red chair across the room," said @hollandmom3 in the comments. “This beaver got me through the pandemic. Miss him but he is where he should be.” You are so right! As much as this rescuer and her followers may miss him, it's also a blessing to AF to know that the love and care has brought him back to where he should be.
"I still imagine there's a friggin' heap somewhere near you with pistons and rugs and glittery things sticking out," said @justtheoned. "Beave got me through some dark days!" It sounds like you might have gotten him through tough times too.
