RHOA’s Cynthia Bailey marries Mike Hill at large Georgia ceremony, despite pandemic
Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill opposed their wedding date change and took steps to contain the spread of the coronavirus at Saturday's event
Cynthia Bailey, a longtime Real Housewives of Atlanta performer, tied the knot with many loved ones in attendance Saturday.
The wedding plans appeared to be in jeopardy due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but the couple kept their original date of October 10, 2020 as 250 guests witnessed the marriage at a Georgia country club, People Magazine reported. Georgia, which has some of the loosest coronavirus policies in the country, has banned large gatherings with a few exceptions.
Bailey, 53, was joined by her bridesmaids and RHOA castmates Kenya Moore and Kandi Burress, and former cast member Eva Marcille. The wedding took place at the Governors Towne Club, about 30 miles north of Atlanta in Acworth, Georgia.

With a large crowd at the venue, Bailey made sure that precautions were taken in compliance with COVID-19. She provided guests with masks and face shields from masks by Jill & Ally, created by Jill Zarin, an alum from the Real Housewives of New York, and her daughter Ally Shapiro, so Bravo, who runs The Real Housewives franchise. Bailey also hired a cleaning team to sterilize the venue before the wedding.
Each guest was subjected to a temperature control upon arrival. "Everyone has to wash their hands before they get in, and we will have hand sanitizer stations all over the venue," said Bailey. "And everyone must always wear a mask, it's not optional."
The newlyweds were concerned that the pandemic would cause them to postpone or shorten their dream wedding arrangements, but Bailey insisted that the pandemic convince them that time is of the essence. Georiga health security guidelines prohibit gatherings of more than 50 people "unless there is at least two meters between each person, except for activities that are part of essential critical infrastructure."
The wedding was originally supposed to take place outdoors, where it is safer for large groups to congregate, but the couple had to take vows indoors due to weather conditions triggered by the Hurricane Delta, People reports.

"We live in a very different time, and now we realize more than ever that life is too short and that we don't take anything for granted," she said. “We are so grateful that we found each other. Love with God's help conquers all. "
During the pandemic, Bailey and Hill isolate themselves for months and the unrest prepares them to begin their new chapter. "If we could survive this, we could all survive together," said Hill, a television host for Fox Sports and Fox Soul. "We are happy, we are ready to go."
