Sarah Jefferey Says Original Charmed Stars Should Be "Embarrassed" After Criticizing the Reboot

Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs could learn a lesson or two from their charming successor, Sarah Jeffery.
Sarah spoke up on Twitter after seeing the actresses, who originally starred in Charmed from 1998 to 2006, repeatedly criticized The CW's restart. She said to her fans: "You know, I saw this before and said nothing. I thought it was better to just let her scream into the abyss. But I want to say I find it sad and frankly pathetic to see adult women who act like this. "
The 24-year-old, who will appear as Maggie Vera on the reboot, hopes Holly and Rose "find happiness elsewhere, not in the form of knocking down other WOCs".
She continued, "I would be embarrassed to behave like this."
Holly and Rose were fierce opponents of the Charmed reboot even before it went into production. Back in January 2018, Holly took to Twitter to warn The CW not even to think about capitalizing on our hard work.

She added, "Charmed is owned by the four of us, our huge number of writers, crews, and mostly the fans. For your information, you are not going to fool them if you own a title / stamp. So bye."
McGowan's disapproval of a reboot was evident in 2013 when she tweeted, "Lame lame lame lamertons."
Alyssa Milano was more or less ambivalent about the revival, explaining to Parade that she was more upset that the original cast wasn't involved in the remake. Nonetheless, she shared, "I have a feeling that it will either work or not, and if it does again, a whole new generation will be exposed to the beauty of what Charmed could be for people, and if it doesn't. " , then we don't have to hear about it anymore. "
Shannen Doherty, on the other hand, was more welcome when a younger group of actresses slipped into the role of young witches. Following Holly's remarks, the Beverly Hills 90210 star said, "I'm intrigued by the idea that a new generation could be comforted and inspired like all they were. Charmed has helped us all in some way."
CW President Mark Pedowitz later expressed his hope that the original cast would "give this new cast a chance".
"It's not exactly the same, but there are many similarities," explained Pedowitz. "Hopefully they try. We're happy with what we're cast. We think it's a nice mix. We're thrilled that Jennie Snyder Urman reinterpreted it a bit, and all I can say to fans is before you make a decision, watch the show. "
Sarah and her co-stars Melonie Diaz and Madeleine Mantock are currently filming the third season, which is expected to premiere in 2021. The cast was recently reunited after production ceased due to the coronavirus pandemic.
