Sarah Michelle Gellar Says Her Kids Watch Buffy Now: ‘They Are So Into It’
The Kelly Clarkson Show
Buffy the Vampire Slayer has a new fan club!
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Buffy on the hit show, appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday for a "DRIVE IN-terview," in which she spoke about her children's newfound love for the supernatural show.
The mother of two stated that their children, daughter Charlotte Grace, 10, and son Rocky James, 8, had never seen Buffy and decided to give it a try at home while quarantined amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"We're just getting started. I never thought I'd show them," admitted the 43-year-old Gellar.
"They asked during quarantine, we were trying to find shows, and I was fine. I didn't even know if they were interested, but they are so interested," she continued.
Gellar, who shares her two children with husband Freddie Prinze Jr., teased that she was "the world's biggest disappointment" for not remembering certain things from the filming of the show.

"They'll always ask questions and I'll say," I don't remember texting anyone and asking, "she said," They think they know better than me. "
However, Gellar said she found a silver lining to watch the show with her kids.
"My son actually thinks that I'm cool now," she said with a laugh.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired for seven seasons before wrapping it up in 2003.
In addition to re-enacting the series, Gellar channeled her previous role earlier this spring by redressing one of Buffy's famous outfits.

In May, the actress slipped back into the cream ball gown she wore to the 1997 first season finale of the hit WB series for an epic throwback post on Instagram.
“All dressed and no destination,” the star captioned the photo of her posing in the dress while standing in her house.

Gellar paired the flowing dress with a leather jacket, just like she did on the fans' favorite series.
The only thing missing from her throwback ensemble was the crossbow Buffy used in the fight against The Master (Mark Metcalf) on the series - a confrontation known to result in her death before her beast Xander (Nicholas Brendon) did her brought back to life.
"'I say we're celebrating,'" she added, quoting the episode and adding the hashtag of her name "Prophecy Girl".
