It's not often that an NFL team puts their coach on the injury report, but the Los Angeles Rams may have to do so with Sean McVay before Sunday's game is over. McVay suffered a nasty blow to the head when a Rams player ran onto the field during the first quarter of Sunday's competition.
The goal came early in the game. McVay was walking down the sidelines as tight end Roger Carter Jr. donned his helmet and ran toward the field. Neither man saw the other as Carter's helmet collided with McVay's face.
It was a devastating hit.
McVay was clearly in pain after the hit, which ripped off his headset. A trainer visited McVay, according to the broadcast. McVay opted to stay in the game, although he could be seen touching and rubbing his jaw after scoring.
The sequence pretty much sums up the Rams' season. After winning the Super Bowl last season, the team has not lived up to expectations this season due to injuries and bad luck. McVay will appear to be trying to stamp out the pain at week 12. We hope he avoided a significant injury after that brutal clash.
