Second Man Arrested In The 2019 Murder Of Domestic Violence Victim Heather Gumina-Waters

Another man was arrested in connection with the 2019 murder of a California woman.
The El Dorado Sheriff's department said in a press release that it had found new evidence in the murder of Heather Gumina-Waters, 33, culminating in the arrest of Justin Kremer, 40, on Thursday. He was charged with complicity in murder.
Gumina-Waters' husband, Anthony Gumina, was arrested shortly after her remains were found in 2019 in connection with her death. Heather Gumina was last seen alive in June this year, shortly after she was discharged from hospital with a broken collarbone. Investigators assume that her husband attacked her; he had a pending arrest warrant on domestic violence charges when she disappeared. Anthony was previously accused of assaulting Heather while she was arresting her four-year-old son, CBS Sacramento reported in 2019. Gumina was charged with cruelty to a child for endangering his or her health.
Anthony was charged with murder in September 2019 when MPs found Heather's remains in Pleasant Valley. A criminal complaint filed after his arrest alleged that he killed her because she "witnessed a crime and was deliberately killed to prevent her from giving evidence in a criminal case," CBS Sacramento reported.
Investigators have not disclosed how Kremer knew the victim or her husband.
"At the moment, no further details about Kremer's involvement are published," said the sheriff's department on Monday by email.
Details of how Heather was killed have not yet been released.
Heather had three children, ages 4, 10, and 14 when she died. She worked as a waitress and her former boss said she tried to work despite being injured.
“I called and spoke to her and she said, 'I can still come to work'.
"My daughter was one of the most generous and loyal people I have ever known," her mother Joanna Russel told KTXL. “I will mourn for a very long time. It's like the world's worst nightmare.
