Simone Biles to miss individual all-around final at Tokyo Olympics
TOKYO - Simone Biles won't defend her gold medal, USA Gymnastics confirmed on Wednesday morning.
The 24-year-old superstar will miss the individual competition at the Tokyo Olympics to focus on her mental health, her team said.
"Simone will continue to be evaluated daily to determine whether or not to go to the singles finals for next week," USA Gymnastics said in a statement.
“We wholeheartedly support Simone's decision and praise her courage to put her well-being first. Her courage shows once again why she is a role model for so many. "
