Sky Brown youngest Brit to win Olympic medal as Japan grabs gold, silver in skateboarding event
Tokyo - Two teenagers and a 12-year-old girl took the podium for the first ever women's park skateboarding event on Wednesday, in which Japanese 19-year-old Sakura Yosozumi took gold.
Why it matters: While Yosozumi won with her soaring acrobatics in the brutal midday heat, her 60.09 was just one point ahead of 12-year-old Kokona Hiraki, also from Japan. Hiraki and 13-year-old British bronze medalist Sky Brown are among the youngest ever Olympic champions.

Brown is the youngest Briton to win a medal in the Summer Olympics.
Hiraki, 12 years and 343 days old, is the first Olympic athlete to win a medal since 1936, when Frenchman Noel Vandernotte won bronze in rowing, before turning 13.
Brown was born in Japan, which means that all three medalists were born in the country, the first time this has happened in a women's competition.
What you say:
Gold medalist Sakura Yosozumi: "I hope that skateboarding will be very popular in Japan because of the strong performance of the Japanese team."
Bronze medalist Sky Brown: "It was unbelievable. It already feels like a dream. It's amazing. I'm so happy and so grateful and so proud of each of the other girls."
On site: The competition was characterized by incredible tricks by the participants as well as enormous support for each other. The air after it finished fourth behind Yosozumi and Brown - close friends - to celebrate their medal wins together.
