‘SNL’ Cancels Morgan Wallen Performance After Singer Breaks COVID-19 Protocols

Morgan Wallen is no longer the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this week.
The aspiring country star posted an emotional Instagram video from a hotel room in New York City preparing for the weekly show. He announced to fans that he had received a call from the show informing him that he could no longer play the October 10 show due to COVID-19 protocols on "SNL".
He said he hadn't tested positive for COVID-19, but "my actions over the past weekend were pretty short-sighted and obviously influenced my long-term goals and dreams," he said, referring to TikTok's recent show Wallen in Alabama without a mask in a crowded bar and at a house party.
"I respect the show's decision because I know I put it in danger and I take responsibility for it." I would like to apologize to SNL, my fans and my team for giving me these opportunities and I am failing them, "he said.
"And what is even more personal, I think I have some more time to grow up," he added. “I think I've lost myself a little. I've been trying to find joy in the wrong places and I don't know, I enjoyed it less so I'll try to work on it. I'll step back from the spotlight for a while and work on myself. I wish I could have done country music and my fans proud this Saturday, but once again I respect the decision. "
Wallen said "SNL" boss Lorne Michaels gave him "a lot of encouragement" and told Wallen that the show "would find another time to make amends".
Wallen confirmed the examination he faced after the TikToks surfaced, but said the letters of encouragement he received "have not gone unnoticed either".
No new musical guest was announced to play in Wallen's place.
