‘SNL’ Cold Open Reveals Jim Carrey’s Joe Biden Was the Fly on Mike Pence’s Head (Video)
The second episode of the new "SNL" season began, similar to the season premiere, with a cold open that focused on current events, in this case the occasionally funny Vice President debate on Wednesday. And of course, Maya Rudolph reappeared to play Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate Kamala Harris alongside SNL cast member Beck Bennett as current Veep Mike Pence and Kate McKinnon as presenter Susan Page.
But while the debate was notable for a couple of things: Mike Pence's constant interruptions and waste of time, Mike Pence's strange eye, and the faces Harris made during the debate when Pence interrupted it or devoured time was the main thing everyone was talking about who have favourited the fly that landed on Pence's hair late at night.
While the "SNL" parody in the "SNL" version of the debate covered all of these other moments in some form, it turned out that Jim Carrey's Joe Biden was that fly, about a parody of the horror movie "The Fly".

But first the sketch ticked off the biggest hits from the debate, such as when Page Pence asked about Trump's health. In the “SNL” version of the debate, Page asked, “Mr. Vice President, I have to ask, what is President Trump's current health? "
"Thanks for asking, Susan," said Beckett's pence.
"I didn't ask out of sympathy, Mike. I asked about his incompetence with simmering anger, in the sadistic hope that he wasn't okay," McKinnon's side replied.
"Unfortunately you are doing amazingly for the President," Pence replied. “Thanks to his team of scared doctors. As told by his family doctor Dr. Handsome Liar heard Trump is in great physical shape. "
McKinnon's side then asked what medicine Trump was taking. Becketts Pence said, "Almost none, Susan. He took aspirin, which he always did. An injection of experimental monoclonal antibodies. A macho man Randy Savage amount of steroids. A woman's probiotic for balance. And two ounces of helium in his skull so his head doesn't fall over on TV. "

"So like a balloon head?" Side asked.
Then the sketch parodied the moment Pence tried to falsely claim Harris was against a vaccine. In response, Rudolphs Harris said, "If Dr. Fauci says the vaccine is good, I'll be the first to act like it's an Ann Taylor sample sale." But if Trump says it's safe, I'll throw this vaccine in the trash like last week's Shrimp Pad Thai. Plus, mom has all the vaccine she needs here. "At that point she pulled out a martini.
After a few more minutes, the sketch switched scenes in Joe Biden's living room, in which Carrey appeared as Heidi Gardener as Jill Biden. Carreys Biden was concerned about how the debate was going and decided he had to go there with an experimental teleportation device - and of course the teleportation machine turned out to be basically a replica of the one from David Cronenberg's 1986 remake of "The Fly". Just like in the movie where a scientist played by Jeff Goldblum tests a teleportation device but doesn't realize there's a fly in it, Biden's journey mixed his DNA with a fly.
But of course he still landed on Pence's head when the "SNL" parody then showed Beckett's Pence with a highly visible fly on his head.
"Mr. Vice. President, don't you feel that at all?" Asked Page.
"I'll tell you how I feel, Susan. I have a sense of the businesses that Joe Biden's tax cuts are crippling," Pence replied.

“Yes, yes, your economy is so in the toilet, I want to lay my eggs on it. Carrey's Biden-Fly-Hybrid said. From that moment on, Carrey gradually changed his impression from a Joe Biden impression to an impression of Joe Biden, which slowly turned into Jeff Goldblum on "The Fly".
“God created dinosaurs. Dinosaurs became Republicans. Republicans created Trump. Trump is destroying God, "said Carreys Biden, referring to several classic Goldblum film lines.
And in the end, it was revealed that Herman Cain - who was known to have been killed by COVID-19 that he captured at Donald Trump's divisive Tulsa rally in June - was reborn as a fly (played here by Keenan Thompson).
"Those fools Trump and Pence killed me, man," Thompson's Cain said. “You invited me to a rally without a mask. They said, "Everything is fine, Herman." I catch Corona, Trump says to me, "Everything is fine, Herman." The White House doctors check me and they check: "Everything is fine, Herman." Three Days later I'm gone! When you see this at home, don't trust that white devil because of this Rona. "
