Sorry, Bryson. You're nowhere to be found on our list of the PGA Tour's pound-for-pound longest hitters

The legend of Bryson DeChambeau seems to be growing day by day like the man himself. This week at RBC Heritage, the bomber reportedly had to move to the back of Harbor Town's driving town to avoid jeopardizing the houses at the far end of the training area. Then Rory McIlroy came to be honest with DeChambeau over the weekend at the Colonial and see fireworks in person
"Holy s & * #, that was incredible," said McIlroy. (Whereupon we would say the same about McIlroy's answer.)
Admittedly impressed by DeChambeau's extra length, McIlroy stopped and said he was ready to follow the Bryson path for extra mileage. When asked if he could add 20 mph ball speed by adding 30 pounds, McIlroy quickly stated that he would not.
"I actually feel best when I'm lighter," said McIlroy. "I was probably the easiest at the start of the season, sort of a California swing at Torrey Pines. I remember how I weighed in Torrey on Sunday morning. I went to the finals and was like 155. I think that's halfway now from Bryson. "

In fact, mass, muscle, or otherwise doesn't always mean more distance to the tee. The confirmation of this is a simple look at the top 15 of the tour in average driving distance and the realization that most of them don't even break 200 pounds.
It made us think: Who, pound for pound, will be the most hit on the PGA tour? E. Michael Johnson determined the weights of the players (from the PGA Tour media guide or Google search, in which there were spaces) and the ShotLink distance data to make the calculation easier.

Mind you, none of these types weigh more than 160 pounds and is suitable for excessive meters per pound.
As you gain weight, the yard / pound number naturally decreases. For this reason, Bubba Watson's 1,773 mark, despite being the best of the tour professionals weighing 180 pounds or more, only ranks 44th overall.
Dustin Johnson outperforms the players by 190 pounds or more, reaching 1,627 yards per pound, placing him 127th in yards / pounds on Tour 127. For players over 200, Grayson Murray leads with 1,577.
And where does DeChambeau shake with the extra weight? Suffice it to say that this measure is not very high. At 240 pounds, where DeChambeau says it has risen, it would reach its drives at 1,349 yards / pound, or 217 out of 223 measured players.
