Fans won't be able to follow Schröder's journey to motherhood on TV. Bravo announced that she and Kristen Doute would not be returning to season 9 after a revived racist incident with former co-star Faith Stowers. The popular show, led by Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump's former Real Housewives, has recently completed its eighth season.
Earlier this month, Stowers told an Instagram Live how Doute and Schroeder called the police in 2018. The Daily Mail then published an article about a black woman who drugged and robbed people, and Doute and Schroeder claimed the photo looked like Stowers.
In an interview with Yahoo last week, Stowers called the racial profile "disgusting," saying the public statement that she was a thief "had helped my life be in a dark place."
"I got calls from casting directors who wanted to work with me, and the first question they had to ask me was whether I stole things and drugged people," said Stowers. “It was really difficult for me to be connected to it. "
Both Schroeder and Doute publicly apologized to Stowers.
“Race-insensitive comments from my past have reappeared. It is important that I continue to take responsibility for what I have said and done, while at the same time pushing myself to do better, ”wrote Schroeder on Instagram. “I have grown considerably compared to the person I was then and I am still full of regret and regret for the injuries I caused. At the time, I did not recognize the serious consequences that could have resulted from my actions. What I did to Faith was wrong. I apologize and do not expect forgiveness. "
Stowers informed Yahoo that Schroeder had not yet contacted her privately, while Doute sent her a direct message a few days after the headlines.
The professional impact on Schröder was quick. She was sold by her agency UTA and lost several brand stores. Schroeder, a popular podcast presenter, found success outside the Bravo world when her book Next Level Basic: The Definitive Basic B **** Handbook 2019 became a New York Times bestseller.
Sources said E! News Schroeder was "an emotional wreck" last week.
“Stassi and Kristen are not only upset, but also some of the other actors. They know that the show will never be the same, ”said a source. “Stassi was an emotional wreck. She has a very hard time and has no idea what to do. She feels completely lost and is very disgusted with her past actions. "
The insider continued: “Stassi and Kristen talked about their actions and were in touch about what's going on. They both feel terrible about what happened. "
Fans are demanding that another original actor, Jax Taylor, be released because he also made defamatory comments about Stowers. Stowers told Yahoo, "It's only fair," he said, that he had similar consequences.
