Stephen A. Smith loses it when Max Kellerman argues the Nets would be worse with James Harden

The James Harden drama in Houston has taken a wild turn. The NBA fined him $ 50,000 for violating the league's health and safety protocols. It did so shortly after the Rockets' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder was postponed because several Houston players provided either inconclusive COVID-19 tests or positive tests. It's a different level of drama than the Rockets up to this point, but it all comes down to Harden's behavior when he goes into a trade intensely.
Harden might put the numbers up, but it seems like some of his intangibles could cause problems for the next team he plays for - especially if he moved to a place like Brooklyn.
However, ESPN's Stephen A Smith doesn't care. Because when his co-host of First Take, Max Kellerman, tried to argue that Harden would make the nets worse, Smith focused on the statistics.
"I get the thought, OK, look at this team, look at the depth it has, let's see how it works, don't touch it. I understand this thinking," said Smith. " Spencer Dinwiddie doesn't care about the scrub, Caris LeVert isn't a scrub - these brothers can play ball, I have insane respect for them. I'm really tall DeAndre Jordan even though he's older right now. Joe Harris I like it very, very much. I can't say enough about Sean Marks and the work he did with this franchise - I especially love the fact that he picked up on Jeff Green. I love Jeff Green on this roster because he's not only a good player, he's also a character. I love Jeff Green, one of the best people in the world to meet.
“But let me say something now, Max: To sit up there and say that a guy who has averaged more than 30 points per game over the past three years and has received compensation is one of the most productive offensive weapons The basketball game in its history would make a championship contender worse - I don't understand that way of thinking, it's blasphemy to me. "
The nets are back on Friday for a Christmas Day game against the Boston Celtics.
