Strong winds, rough seas as cyclone lashes Mumbai

The cyclone killed at least 12 people, according to authorities, and left a trail of destruction as it passed the coastal states of Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.
Mumbai's light rail system, one of the busiest in the world, was also affected when the tracks were flooded. A Reuters witness saw trees uprooted and stranded cars and buses in the city.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) classified the storm formed in the Arabian Sea as an "extremely severe" storm and upgraded it from the "very severe" category.
