In the 1950s, someone had the good idea of combining the distinctive Tri-Five Chevy shape with the Cadillac design.
Decades before Cadillac debuted the Chevrolet-based Cimarron, Canadian textile magnate Reuben Allender was trying to build a scaled-down, less expensive Cadillac. Based on the legendary Chevrolet Bel Air from 1956 and 1957, these unusual hybrids were named "El Morocco".

These unusual cars combined the design of the Tri-Five Chevrolets with modern Cadillacs. The result is unique, but strangely familiar - and quite handsome overall. In a way, it reminds us of Grand Theft Auto's cars, which are like a fusion of several real-world models.
However, this is not a video game - this is as real as it gets. It is believed that only about 20 El Moroccos were built in 1956 and 1957. While the prices of the cars were below a Cadillac, they were apparently too expensive for the average Chevrolet buyer to seriously think about.

We risk a guess you've never seen one, let alone three like the one we have here. These cars belonged to the car collector Marv Siesel and are now being auctioned.
One 1956 and two 1957 will be offered for auction. The 1956 is a convertible while the 1957 is represented by a coupe and hardtop. All three have been restored to stunning condition, just as they were in the 1950s.

These three cars are being sold by Mecum Auctions as part of their Kissimmee 2021 sale, which runs January 7-16. When "normal" Tri-Five Chevrolets just don't do it for you anymore, one of these (or all three) might be just the thing to spice up your collection.
