Speaking to Uruguayan media on international service about his Camp Nou departure, Suarez appeared to be repeating a sentiment resembling any number of stars after unceremoniously left Barcelona - Guardian quotes:
“Those days were very difficult. I cried because of what I was going through. I didn't get the message from the club that they were looking for a solution for me to mess things up very well. I was hurt the most about how they did things because when a cycle comes to an end, you have to accept it.
“Not everyone knows what happened, but the worst part was training and being sent to a different group from everyone else because I wasn't allowed to play in practice games. My wife could see how unhappy I was and she wanted to see me smile again and when the opportunity arose to come to Atletico I had no doubts. "
Luis Suarez also commented on the public support he had received from former Barcelona teammate and longtime friend Lionel Messi, who said of Suarez two weeks ago: “You deserve a proper goodbye for who you are - one of the best Players in the club's history. ”
"I wasn't surprised Messi publicly supported me because I knew him too well. He knew the pain I was going through, the feeling that I was being kicked out, hurt me the most. The way I did they did things wasn't right and Leo knows how me and my family have suffered. "
