Take a look inside Kamala Harris' multimillion-dollar real estate portfolio, which includes property in California and Washington, DC

Before Senator Kamala Harris joined Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden for his 2020 ticket, she worked in California and in national politics for 16 years.
She was first California District Attorney and Attorney General and then a US Senator.
Wall Street Journal's Katherine Clarke reported that Harris owns several properties valued at approximately $ 8 million.

The Journal reported that Emhoff bought the property in 2012 and has since transferred it to a trust.
According to Zillow, the property has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The off-market listing states the home occupies 3,500 square feet and is worth around $ 5.4 million.
According to Property Insider records on Property Shark, it is a single family home built in 1948.
While the actual house is fuzzy on Google Maps, the rest of the street appears to be lined with sloping roofed houses and lots of greenery.
The median house value in Brentwood is $ 2.7 million, above the Los Angeles median per Zillow.

Harris isn't the first political figure Brentwood calls home. Richard Nixon lived in Brentwood in 1961 before becoming president. During this time, a devastating fire scorched the Bel Air and Brentwood neighborhoods, although the house that Nixon leased was spared.
Brentwood is also home to famous public figures such as LeBron James and Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as her husband Brad Falchuk.
Harris and Emhoff also own a condominium in the West End neighborhood of Washington, DC.

Harris has been a Senator since 2017. Clarke reported for WSJ that Harris bought a two-bedroom apartment for $ 1.7 million the same year she joined the Senate.
Photos of condominiums in the building show an elegant design and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the rooms with natural light.

The apartment building's website offers amenities such as a heated rooftop pool, business center, and fitness center with Peloton machines.

Per Zillow, the median house value in the West End neighborhood is $ 702,000 and the median rent is $ 3,172.

Harris became the San Francisco District Attorney in 2004.
The apartment, which Harris bought the same year she became a prosecutor, is currently valued at $ 890,000 - roughly twice what she paid for it.
The apartment is located in the South of Market neighborhood of San Francisco, a city known to have competitive real estate prices.
