Taliban announce hunt for ancient treasure
The Taliban are looking for a 2,000 year old treasure called Bactrian gold.
Reportedly, the group that rules Afghanistan said if the treasure had been taken out of the country it would view it as treason against the state.
The items that make up Bactrian gold date back roughly two millennia, RepublicWorld.com reported.

Many fear that if the Taliban seize the items, they will destroy them in an attempt to clean up the history, culture and people of Afghanistan.
The items discovered by archaeologists in the graves of wealthy northern Afghan nomads in the 1970s reportedly show a wide variety of Persian and Greek influences.
The most important of these is a richly decorated gold crown.
