After many twists and turns, Tayshia Adams, star of the 16th season of The Bachelorette, is engaged to Zac Clark. The reality show contestant asked the question at the final on Tuesday and the engagement ring, true to the bachelorette form, is absolutely stunning.
According to E !, Adams' ring, there is an emerald cut diamond of 3.25 carats surrounded by a sparkling halo of 27 round diamonds. The band and edges hold another 67 diamonds. For those who count, that's 95 diamonds. The jewelry designer behind the ring, Neil Lane, told people that the engagement ring has a vintage 1920s feel to it which, in his opinion, attracted Clark in the first place. It also features a hidden halo detail, one of the top engagement ring trends of 2021.
This is the second ring that Lane, the franchise's longtime jeweler, has designed for this season of The Bachelorette. As early as week four, he created the 4.5-carat ring with a whopping 148 diamonds for candidate Dale Moss to propose to Clare Crawley's original bachelorette party of the season. Lane had cut out his work for him this year. Not only was Season 16 filmed during the lockdown, but Lane had to quarantine himself before he could show the ring, which meant he couldn't bring Crawley's ring to her. However, he could be there for Adam and Clark's engagement. (Lane also appeared during Adams' appointment with Brendan Morais earlier in the season.)
Just before Clark suggested, Adams said to him, “That first night I got here I was extremely excited about the opportunity to find love, but also very nervous and scared because I didn't know if it was possible to find true love. ”She continued,“ When I first met you, I thought to myself, 'He's different and this man is nice. He shows gratitude and has the biggest smile. He's been through a lot but never gave up, but he's also learned to read me better than really anyone else, and he can comfort me when I'm down. “There was a point in my life where I thought I was never going to get married because of all the pain and heartache I had been through and I hit rock bottom. And I know I told you I love you, but ... it's more than that. "After agreeing to the proposal, Adams drove off with Clark in the New York City-inspired cardboard taxi for the first time showed up in her hometown.
After the finale aired, Adams featured her engagement ring on her Instagram story. Adams danced a little happily next to her new fiancé and smiled as she signed the story with "2021 we ready for you baby!" Whether this is a hint of an upcoming wedding date or just some excitement for the year ahead, Adams and Clark seem poised for whatever 2021 brings.
