Tecia Torres vs. Angela Hill rematch booked for UFC 265 on Aug. 7
The UFC will give the Tecia Torres vs. Angela Hill booking another chance.
Torres (11-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) will meet Hill (13-9 MMA, 8-9 UFC) at UFC 265 on Aug. 7 at a location and venue to be announced.
A person with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Monday but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion had not yet been officially announced. MMA DNA was the first to cover the news.
The pair were scheduled to compete again at UFC 256 in December, but Hill pulled out after testing positive for COVID-19. Torres instead faced newcomer Sam Hughes and won the fight from TKO due to the doctor's interruption in the first round.
Hill accused Torres of escaping a possible rebooking, at which point Torres appeared to be disinterested in hoping for someone to rank above her. Torres won his first appearance unanimously in Hill's third professional fight in 2015.
The winner of four of her last six, Hill was able to skid a two-time loss skid with a unanimous win over Ashley Yoder at UFC Fight Night 187 in March. Hill was then scheduled to face Amanda Ribas at UFC on ESPN 24 in May, but Ribas tested positive for COVID-19 and the fight was abandoned just hours before the event. Her matchup was rebooked for UFC Fight Night 189 on June 5, but Ribas was forced as she is still battling with persistent COVID-19 symptoms.
With the addition, the UFC 265 range now includes:
Champ Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena - for the women's bantamweight title
Jose Aldo versus Pedro Munhoz
Vince Morales versus Drako Rodriguez
Johnny Munoz vs. Jamey Simmons
Casey Kenney vs. Song Yadong
Angela Hill versus Tecia Torres
