The 24-year-old head armorer of Alec Baldwin's movie 'Rust' told a podcast she 'almost didn't take' her last job because she wasn't sure if she was 'ready'

The fatal shooting of a crew member by actor Alec Baldwin while filming a film in the western United States has raised questions about the use of guns on film sets.
The 24-year-old headguard from "Rust" expressed self-doubt about her experience in a podcast last month.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, whose father is a famous gunsmith, said she wasn't sure she was "ready" for her first job.
Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and director Joel Souza were injured while filming the "Rust" set.
The head gun handler for Rust, which made headlines after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot on the set by Alec Baldwin, announced last month that she was concerned about her experience for her first job.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 24, said in a podcast that she almost didn't take the job, her first head armor, because she wasn't sure she was "ready" for it, Metro reported.

Gutierrez-Reed, the daughter of veteran Hollywood gunsmith Thell Reed, said on the Voices Of The West podcast that Rust was only her second film as head armor.
She had just made The Old Way with Clint Howard and Nicolas Cage. "It was a really badass way to start a really long and cool career," she said on the podcast.
"I was also head armor for the first time," said Gutierrez-Reed. "I almost didn't take the job because I wasn't sure I was ready, but it went really smoothly."
Gutierrez-Reed added that she was initially afraid to load blanks. "I think loading blanks was the scariest thing for me because I was like, 'Oh, I don't know about this,'" she said. But her famous father, she said, helped her train her.

The film's camerawoman, Halyna Hutchins, 42, died after Baldwin fired a prop gun. Director Joel Souza was also injured. According to an affidavit, the gun was given to Baldwin by an assistant director who said "cold gun," the New York Times and Associated Press reported. The term refers to a weapon that is not loaded with live cartridges.
Insider reported that after the shooting, police questioned an armorer as a witness. It is not clear whether the armourer was Gutierrez-Reed.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that "Rust" was Hannah Gutierrez-Reed's first professional head armor job.
