The Bachelorette Star Zac Clark's Ex-Wife Sounds Off on His Relationship With Tayshia Adams
Zac Clark could ask Tayshia Adams the question in The Bachelorette finale on December 22nd. In this case, he is assisted by his ex-wife, Jennifer Stanley-George, who keeps track of her ex-spouse's time in Bachelor Nation.
Zac and Jennifer were high school favorites who married in 2009. However, Zac's fight against substance abuse created a rift in their relationship, and the two divorced in 2012. Now Zac is an addiction specialist who co-founded the Release Recovery organization.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Jennifer explained what it was like to find out that Zac, whom she hadn't had contact with in years, would be on the show.
"I've watched the show for years. I've always watched every season of the year - Bachelor in Paradise and everything - so I was literally scrolling through my Facebook feed in the middle of summer when I saw his picture and I said, 'Oh OK! '"She remembered. "It was a little shocking and a little hard to see. I'm not going to lie."
Jennifer, who has since remarried and has a newborn baby, explained what it was like to get in the mood for the reality show given to her and one of the last entrant's intricate stories.
"He's been on my TV show and Instagram and everything every week since then, and here I'm nine months pregnant and quarantined in my house. This is where my ex-husband shows up," Jennifer said. "All of our college friends texted me and said, 'Is that your Zac? Is that the Zac?' Like, 'Yes, he is.' "
Behind the Scenes Secrets of Tayshia Adams' Style on the Bachelorette
"I love Tayshia. I've seen her on the other shows and she seems so cute," said Jennifer, adding that she kept in touch with Zac's sister who pushed him to join the cast.
Nonetheless, the mother has some reservations about Zac's true nature and tells the outlet: "Our entire relationship he lied to me about his drug use. I mean, I didn't know. I was very naive."
She shared, "I hope he's the last tonight and that they're still together. I wish that for him. I just don't know if he's completely honest and sincere on TV ... But I don't know if that's only because I'm marked by our past. "

Whether Zac is here for the "right reasons" (aka love instead of fame), his ex is pretty confident it's the former.
"I have a feeling he would never have done this alone because he just doesn't like that kind of thing," she said. "He's not looking for followers."
A Brief History of the Bachelor and Bachelorette Degrees
While Zac may not be looking for Instagram clout, he warmed the hearts of his followers earlier this month when he shared a cute story on Instagram about a bank clerk, Rhonda Jackson, who chose to call his father rather than the police when he did it tried to cash a fraudulent check. He met with Rhonda again to thank her for "saving" his life, because after that he went on the path of recovery.
"She remembered the day vividly and we hugged as if we'd always known each other. In a world that seemed to be filled with so much apathy, Rhonda Jackson taught me a valuable life lesson," Zac wrote on Instagram along with a photo of him and Rhonda. "Always treat people with love, always believe and always do the right thing. You never know whose life you could save. Thank you, Rhonda, for saving my life. There are no coincidences."
Jennifer admitted that being with Zac at this turbulent time in his life was difficult, but said it was for the best in the end.
"It had to be cleaned for itself, not me," Jennifer told the point of sale. "And I think at this point if we'd stayed together he would have done it for me."
The Bachelorette will air at 8 p.m. tonight. on ABC.
