ABC has canceled The Baker and the Beauty. The one-hour romantic comedy drama, based on the successful Israeli format, was one of two freshman series ABC left in the bubble after doing most of its renewals and cancellations last month. The other, Drama For Life, has been renewed.

The Baker and the Beauty has been called a comfort food plan that could go well with the program during the pandemic. He found it difficult to connect with viewers and was ranked as one of ABC's worst rated series. The nine-episode season for newbies ends on June 1st.

With Victor Rasuk and Nathalie Kelley in the title roles, Notting Hill-like Baker and the beauty come from Dean Georgaris, David Frankel, Keshet Studios, Universal TV and ABC Studios.
The Baker and the Beauty was written by Georgaris and directed by Frankel. The focus is on Daniel Garcia (Rasuk), who works in the family bakery and does everything his loving Cuban parents and siblings expect from him. But on a wild night in Miami, he meets Noa Hamilton (Kelley), an international superstar and fashion mogul, and his life comes into the spotlight. Will this unlikely couple change their lives to be together and involve their families in a cultural struggle?
The cast also includes Carlos Gomez, Dan Bucatinsky, Lisa Vidal, Belissa Escobedo, Michelle Veintimilla and David Del Rio.
Georgaris, Frankel and Edwards produce together with Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan from Keshet together with Assi Azar, the creator of the original series. Universal Television and ABC Studios produce in collaboration with Keshet Studios.
