It's no secret that the Denver Broncos trade was an absolute disaster for Russell Wilson. Giving up all sorts of draft capital and three players for the former Seahawks quarterback was supposed to be the deal that propelled Denver to the Super Bowl, but Wilson seemed completely lost in what offense head coach Nathaniel Hackett envisions out there. When the Broncos signed Wilson to a five-year, $245 million contract extension post-trade, they're staying with him for a few more years.
As Wilson continued his abominable performances against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, it appeared to be taking its toll on a Broncos defense that did everything it could to get past their quarterback. Defensive tackle Mike Purcell in particular had a lot to offer to face Wilson.

It's hard to blame Purcell, or anyone else, for that defense. The only question now is how long Hackett can hold out.
