The haunted Bly Manor
The second chapter of the anthology series The Haunting was released worldwide on Netflix on October 9th.
The Haunting of Bly Manor is set in 1980s England by Mike Flanagan, the inventor of The Haunting of Hill House, and Trevor Macy.
"After the tragic death of an au pair, Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) hired a young American nanny (Victoria Pedretti) to look after his orphaned niece and nephew (Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth), who worked with Chef Owen of the property in Bly Manor live (Rahul Kohli), groundskeeper Jamie (Amelia Eve) and housekeeper Mrs. Grose (T'Nia Miller), "says the official description. "But not everything in the mansion is what it seems, and centuries of dark secrets of love and loss are waiting to be discovered in this terrifying Gothic romance. At Bly Manor, dead doesn't mean gone."
Bly Manor is based on the work of Henry James, particularly his 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw.
The first season, The Haunting of Hill House, premiered on Netflix in October 2018 and was loosely based on the 1959 novel by Shirley Jackson of the same name.
It switched between three timelines, following Hugh (Henry Thomas) and Olivia Crain (Carla Gugino) and their five children, who are at risk in the paranormal Hill House, forever changing their lives.
