‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 Will Go Into Production After ‘Book of Boba Fett’ Spinoff, Jon Favreau Says

"The Mandalorian" dropped a bombshell announcement for fans with its season two finale, revealing in the final moments that the show is receiving a third spin-off called "The Book of Boba Fett".
Since this series wasn't on Disney's long list of announcements on that Investor Day earlier this month, some Star Wars fans have been looking for some clarification on the order in which we'll receive the third season of The Mandalorian and its season new spinoff show "The Book of Boba Fett".
Don't worry, series creator Jon Favreau, who oversees The Mandalorian and its spin-offs, is here to explain.

"At the end of ['The Mandalorian' Season 2], Boba Fett came out and said, 'Boba Fett's book is coming December 2021.' And that wasn't part of the big Disney announcement, but here's the logo, "said Favreau when he appeared on Good Morning America on Monday." We wanted to hold this back because we got the surprise during everyone's big Disney announcement Didn't want to spoil shows when Kathleen Kennedy was up there. And so they let me keep it a secret. "
“So that's actually separate from Season 3 of 'The Mandalorian'. But what we didn't say in that announcement is that Kathy said the 'next chapter' on the next show, and that's going to be 'The Book of Boba' fat, 'and then we'll go right after that on the third season of' The Mandalorian 'in production, back with the main character we all know and love. So that will be pretty soon after that. We have now been working on this preproduction while we are working on 'Boba Fett'. "
In the timeline of "The Mandalorian", "The Book of Boba Fett" stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen. The series is produced by J Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez.
