'The View': Star Jones Returns To Shock Co-Hosts By Caping For Clarence Thomas' Wife Ginni Thomas, Says She's 'Very Smart'

Star Jones is back on The View, bringing controversy to the table with her opinion of Ginni Thomas, Justice Clarence Thomas' wife.
According to Decider, Jones came on the show to promote her new role as a divorce court judge. But when The View panelists started talking about politics, Jones revealed that she thinks Ginni Thomas is very smart, although Ginni still believes the 2020 presidential election was rigged by Joe Biden.

The majority of panelists described Ginni as a "cray-cray" (according to Ana Navarro) and a "dirty liar" (according to Sunny Hostin).
Joy Behar also said she doesn't know why the Thomases don't talk politics at home before asking, "Is she a liar or does she belong to a cult?"
Alyssa Farah Griffin also voiced her displeasure with Ginni, saying: "She's technically entitled to her own activism. She's even allowed to believe things like the election was stolen, even though that's demonstrably wrong. But this is a woman who was in the Ellipse on January 6th. Even if you come home for dinner that day, you would think Judge Thomas would say, 'So what did you do today?'"
Jones chimed in with her opinion later in the episode when she was introduced as a guest, saying she believes Ginni already knew that talking to her husband about voter fraud would "compromise" him.
"If you calculate, you'll say, 'I'll never put myself in this position to be asked that question.' So it's either because she's lying about not having the conversation, or she was calculated and strategically. ”

"I actually think she's very smart," she said when asked by the others what she thought of Ginni's behavior. "I disagree with everything she says, but I think she's a smart woman."
This pleasantly surprised Hostin, who said Ginni's belief in a fraudulent election overshadowed "any intelligence she had".
Jones' return to The View is nothing unusual for former panelists
Jones' return to The View is not uncommon for former panelists. Elisabeth Hasselbeck recently returned to promote a new book, and the original co-hosts reunited to celebrate the series' 25th anniversary.
