From country life
Up-and-coming country star Luke Combs and his wife Nicole Hocking met in 2016.
The couple got engaged in 2018 before tying the knot in 2020.
30-year-old aspiring country star Luke Combs and his 28-year-old wife Nicole Hocking are hands down one of the cutest new celebrity couples in the country. Her love story is practically a modern day Nashville fairy tale, and we just had to dig a little deeper to find out all the details about her romance.
The couple married in August 2020, and a little over a month later, Luke released a brand new song about his special relationship with Nicole (called "Without You") that simply melted our hearts.
When I'm up here on this stage / The spotlight is on my face / But I see you / Sure, it's me behind this mic stand / And it's me who strumming that Gibson / And it's me they like to honor / It's me I'm just trying to get the credit where the credit is due. Because I don't mean anything without you.
Yes, I told you. As much as these lyrics want to make us swoon and dance, we also ask ourselves: What is the whole story? If you're curious about Luke and his wife too, read on to see how their real-life fairy tale has played out over the years.
How did Luke Combs meet his wife?
The story of Luke and Nicole began at a Florida music festival in 2016 - before Luke was a famous musician. According to Country Fancast, the two saw each other in the crowd and Nicole asked Luke to join her and her friends. As the weekend celebrations ended, Luke and Nicole returned to Nashville, where they both lived.
In an interview with People, Luke admitted that at the time he had nothing and was the portrait of a struggling musician. While many people doubted that his and Nicole's relationship was going anywhere, the two began dating.
Part of what helped was when Luke wrote his hit "Crazy Beautiful," which was inspired by Nicole. He wrote the song before they became official and admitted that it earned him serious brownie points.
When did Luke suggest Nicole?
When Luke and Nicole first began dating, she became the inspiration for a number of his songs, including "Better Together", "Nothing Like You" and "Forever After All". As if the lyrics weren't enough to believe the couple would get into trouble, Luke suggested Nicole in her kitchen sometime in 2018, but waited to share the news until they were in Hawaii and better pictures for them Could make an announcement.
"She said yes a while ago, but this is a better place to take pictures than the kitchen," he wrote along with the announcement. "Cant wait to hang out with you forever @nicohocking I love you! #Mahalo."
When did Luke and Nicole get married?
After being engaged for nearly two years, Luke and Nicole tied the knot on August 1, 2020 at their beach house in South Florida. The couple were surrounded by family during their wedding. Possibly the cutest part of their union is how excited Luke is about the whole thing.
"Yesterday was the best day of my life," he wrote a post by the couple the day after their wedding. “I have to marry my best friend. I love you @nicocombs, here is forever. "
A week later, he released another one in which Nicole looks like a real princess while the two of them stand in front of a beautiful sunset. "Still seems like a fairy tale @nicocombs, I love you," he captioned the post. "I'll probably post a lot of it, so just get used to it."
Cheers to the bride and groom and many, many more pictures of their love story (and songs inspired by them)!
