The world of golf celebrates as Tiger Woods is announced as the cover athlete of PGA Tour 2K23

Tiger Woods has been the face of golf since the late 1990's. And in the 2000s and early 2010s, he was the face of golf video games.
His last cover came in 2013 for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2014, where he starred alongside the late, great Arnold Palmer.
As things outside of golf began to affect Wood's life, his face and name were no longer associated with video games. For example, in 2015, EA Sports released Rory McIlroy PGA Tour.
Now, nine years after his last appearance, Woods will grace the cover of PGA Tour 2K23 wearing his classic Sunday red and black.

On March 16, 2021, a long-term partnership between Woods and 2K was announced.
"I'm excited to return to the video game landscape, and in 2K and HB Studios I've found the right partners to make this happen," Tiger Woods said in a press release. "I'm honored to take part in this opportunity and look forward to sharing my expertise and insights as we together shape the future of golf video games."
He played an active role as managing director and consultant.
And as you might expect, the golfing world rejoiced at the announcement.
