A trip to buy a new car ended in tragedy over the weekend in Winter Haven, Fla.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, a 76-year-old passenger was killed while testing outside a Nissan dealership on Cypress Gardens Boulevard.
The sheriff's office says the driver was an 86-year-old man who swerved into the lane of an oncoming car while returning to Hill Nissan dealership.
The accident happened around 5:40 p.m. Saturday. Jean Worme of Davenport died instantly. The driver was slightly injured. The dealership's car salesman who accompanied her on the drive was unharmed.

Investigators said the man, Clifford Worme, was about to return the 2023 Rogue SUV and turned left in front of the oncoming vehicle. That driver was unharmed, the sheriff's office added.
The two share the same address, but their relationship is unclear, according to a spokesman for the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Pictures outside the dealership show the fallen villain surrounded by police tape and just meters from the dealership. The westbound lanes were closed for about four hours.
Everyone in the car was belted in at the time of the accident, the sheriff's office said.
