Almond milk is celebrated by nutritionists, chefs and individual consumers alike and has just had a moment. According to food industry experts, the rapid growth and popularity of plant-based milk may not be foreseeable.
According to a Persistence Market Research press release published by PR Newswire, almond milk sales are projected to grow 9% over the next decade as more people turn to this dairy-free, mineral-rich drink. (Related: The One Vitamin Doctors urge everyone to take it immediately.)
Almond milk is a rich source of calcium, magnesium, and iron, and also contains many healthy fats and vitamins. It's also, of course, a vegan-friendly drink that can be used as a substitute for animal milk in many foods and beverages.

The milk has already far surpassed other milk alternatives. Soy milk has been the primary milk alternative for years. Consumers were spending $ 230 million annually on it until midsummer 2018, but almond milk exceeded it dramatically. At the same time, they spent almost five times as much on almond milk: a staggering $ 1.2 billion. Coconut milk came third with annual sales of $ 104.5 million, followed by rice milk with annual sales of $ 41.6 million.
By late fall 2020, US almond milk sales were expected to be nearly $ 1.4 billion, with Blue Diamond's almond milk milk accounting for around $ 555 million of total sales, Statista reports.
