This Little Girl's Reaction to Her New Room Is the Sweetest Thing You'll See All Day

Nice from the house
When Neffi Walker's daughter Nile spent a summer in California, Walker knew she had to do something special for her daughter when she returned. As the designer and founder of The Black Home, Walker decided to convert her daughter's bedroom into a "big girl" room specially designed for schoolwork, sleeping, playing, and most importantly, for mental well-being after months of home study and consecutive days spent in the same room.
In just six days, with the help of a contractor and a friend, Walker completed a full renovation and smashed a wall previously connected to her former office and daughter's bedroom to give more space. She was then repainted, decorated and even made to measure bunk beds.
The goal for Walker was to create specific areas in her daughter's room, be it for study or play, to "ease the transition between working and studying from her room". In Walker's view, spatial organization is essential to a child's emotional wellbeing, especially in such uncertain times.
"While it was important to consider a place for school in their room, focusing on mental stability was the most beneficial, as we know children can get quite excited when they are in a single room all day are limited, "says the designer House Beautiful. And with so much time spent at home last year, the bright colors, geometric wall coverings, and cozy work area were the perfect antidote to the turmoil that has become all too familiar this year.
But perhaps the best part of this colorful renovation isn't the design itself, but Nile's response to her new digs. In an adorable video posted on Walker's Instagram (see below!), Nile slowly opens the door, pauses, and lets out the most glorious, excited scream before falling to the ground in a kind of gratitude. "I really love what I do," writes Walker in her caption. And we can safely say that Nile really loves her new room!
Now apologize as I watch this video on repetition and screaming happily.
