The first son and campaign replacement for his father, President Donald Trump, attacked former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday in a tweet that appeared to refute the reality - and which quickly created confusion online.
Speaking after the president said he would no longer participate in a debate against Mr Biden next week, he cited the Debate Commission's announcement to change the event virtually instead of in person after his Covid-19 diagnosis.
"So Biden refuses to discuss @realDonaldTrump face-to-face but will appear in person for a town hall," wrote the first son, adding, "What a coward."
The tweet made no sense as Mr Biden had accepted an invitation to next week's pre-scheduled debate and his campaign was in line with the Commission's decision to make it virtual.
