Three dead in Rockford bowling alley shooting

Rockford Police Chief Dan O'Shea confirmed the deaths of three people and said three more "received gunshots" and were being treated at a local hospital.
According to O'Shea, a "person of interest" was in custody, he said a motive was not immediately clear and investigators describe it as an "accidental" attack.

DAN O'SHEA: We received several calls tonight around 6:55 p.m. to fire shots at Don Carter Lanes here on State Street. The responding officers came on site. Calls came in, there were multiple victims. The investigation is currently ongoing. We have three people who have been confirmed dead.
We also have three other confirmed people who have received shots and are being treated in local hospitals. At this point we have a person interested in custody. We're pretty much there. The officers are still working on the scene. The prosecutor's office was approved.
