'Tiger King' Subject Bhagavan 'Doc' Antle Indicted for Wildlife Trafficking Charges

Bhagavan "Doc" Antle, one of the characters featured in Netflix's Tiger King documentaries, is charged with wildlife trafficking following an investigation.
As reported by NBC 12, charges against Antle were announced on Friday by Attorney General Mark Herring after his animal rights department conducted a month-long investigation. Antle was charged with illegal wildlife trafficking and was charged with 1 conspiracy to sell or transport endangered wildlife, four conspiracy cases for violating Endangered Species Act, and nine animal cruelties.
The investigation that led to the charges included a search of Antle's property in South Carolina in December 2019. The same investigation also led to criminal offenses against Keith A. Wilson, owner of Wilsons Wild Animal Park in Virginia. In August 2019, the Animal Law Unit seized custody of over 100 animals from the "Roadside Zoo" park. A judge ruled that Wilson "cruelly, neglected, or deprived of adequate care" for animals.
In addition to the charges Doc faces, his daughters Tawny Antle and Tilakam Watterson have been charged with animal cruelty and violating the Endangered Species Act, TMZ reports. Neither Doc nor his daughters have been taken into custody.
Antle is one of the three main themes of Tiger King, which mainly focuses on the world of exotic Florida animal parks. Joe Exotic, currently in jail for his alleged murder of Carole Baskin, recently asked Donald Trump to excuse him, claiming he feared for his life behind bars.
