Time lapse shows rare solar eclipse darken Philippines on the summer solstice
Happy sky watchers in certain parts of the world were exposed to a dramatic solar eclipse today (June 21).
This time-lapse clip was shot around 1 p.m. local time in the Philippines today.
The phenomenon is known as a ring-shaped solar eclipse or fire ring, in which the moon moves between the earth and the sun and only a thin ring of light remains visible.
